In-house production – creating impressive event experiences more easily, efficiently and economically
Interviews | 27 Feb 2026Conferences and conventions. Meetings. Brand and product launches. Presentations and awards ceremonies. Whatever type of event you’re planning — and whoever your audience is — the quality of production and presentation is crucial. It shapes the impact, the lasting impression and, ultimately, the success of your event.
But how do you achieve that impact while keeping things smooth, efficient and within budget?
At the ICC, NEC and Vox, our in house production team can take care of everything for you. That means saving time, money and ‘headspace’ freeing you and your team to focus fully on your content and your delegates. Many of our returning clients find that partnering with our in‑house experts is not only easier, but more efficient and more cost‑effective than bringing in external contractors — all while delivering a premium experience for all, from organisers to audience.
Utilising our in‑house services means that you’ll have a single, dedicated point of contact for every element of your production. With no middlemen involved—whether for contracts, floor plan approvals or last‑minute decisions—you avoid delays, reduce complexity and keep everything moving smoothly.
A smoother event journey from start to finish
There’s a clear and efficient continuum throughout the event ‘journey’ from first discussions to post event reporting. We start by establishing an understanding of what you’re looking for, what you want to achieve - what’s important to you for your event. If you don’t have a clear vision for it, we can talk you through the opportunities and possibilities – which, given the scale and flexibility of our venues and their facilities, are almost unlimited, from a small intimate meeting for 10 to a blockbuster spectacular for 6000 or more delegates.
Optimising your budget – and its impact
A key consideration, of course, is budget. Establishing that early enables us to explore all those options together and make the most of every pound invested in your event. You can achieve remarkable results even with a limited budget, especially as going for in-house cuts out a range of costs incurred with external contractors – accommodation for their teams, transport and delivery of equipment, loading in and out fees, sub contractors and so on. You avoid all those additional expenses. Support services, power and so on are included in an event package pre-agreed and bespoke to you and your event, with a single contract and no hidden extra charges.
Venue experience and expertise
You’re also working with a team who know our venues like no other: experienced, expert technicians and production Managers who can optimise our facilities for you as they do for events all year round. We can be more flexible, too, with your scheduling, setting up and breaking down outside of tenancy hours – with everything good to go when you arrive, and the ability to embrace change and answer any last-minute requirements or hitches on the spot. Then there are aspects you might not immediately think of, like a speaker stepping in or changing their presentation at the last minute – our Slide Preview Service provides a designated area where speakers can run through their slides with a technician and amend them on the day if they need to: the slides are then sent to the AV equipment instantly.
Stunning state-of-the-art tech
I should note too, that our equipment is absolutely state of the art – from live videowalls to colour changing LED lighting and stunning set and staging designs and effects. It’s all planned perfectly right down to the last detail, and clients can see their vision come alive at the event planning stage, as we work through the design with them and then create 3-D renders of what everything will look like on the day. That’s a key stage on the event journey which starts with those initial design conversations and concepts, with seamless project management taking everything through to installation, build – and the event itself.
Our teams are available – again, through your dedicated point of contact – to discuss any technical aspects, make any changes and solve hitches or problems which may arise throughout the process and on the day. Ideally, it’s great to begin the planning process well in advance but as we’re in house, we’re able to react rapidly if your timescale is shorter.
Creating amazing event experiences
So those are some of the technical and operational benefits of going in house at the ICC, Vox and our NEC conference and meetings spaces: easiness, efficiency and economy. We believe we’re unbeatable on all of that. And we’re immensely proud of the quality and impact we deliver, too. Our team brings extraordinary experiences to life - from complex and immersive brand environments to dynamic installations that engage guests from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave.
We design touchpoints that encourage interaction, spark interest and deliver lasting memories and impressions. By aligning with our clients’ visions, enhancing the delegate experience and maximising value across the whole process and tenancy: that's what we can promise you, whether you’re looking for a small but impressive meeting or an all-stops-out spectacular.
So whatever you have in mind, or if you have a grain of an idea you’d like to explore or are looking for inspiration, why not get in touch here.
