Preparing for the return to business

|

Following four months of closure, the Government’s recent announcement that venues are permitted to reopen from 1st October 2020 came as great news. This is the guidance we have been eagerly awaiting and allows us to start planning for the resumption of events.

In preparation for the reopening of our venue, we’ve been busy creating and installing signage to ensure visitors can adhere to social distancing measures. Our ICC Venue Protect initiative is the framework that will help us create a safe and controlled environment.

ICC Venue Protect is based on the AIM Secure guidance published by the MIA, as well as the All Secure Standard guidance published by the AEO. Both of these are now recognised as the government backed best practice standards for the return of event activity.

In addition, we have also secured the ‘We’re Good To Go’ accreditation from VisitBritain, which further demonstrates our readiness to reopen and gives another level of assurance to everyone visiting the ICC that they will have a safe and enjoyable experience.

We have several events scheduled to run in October, not least of all CHS Birmingham, which will be making its Birmingham debut at the ICC on 27th October. A flagship event for the entire industry, CHS will see event buyers and suppliers come together to place business, learn from each other and ensure our sector can play its part in helping to kickstart the UK economy.

Whilst we’re excited to get back to staging live events, we know that operating in this new environment is not without significant challenges. We understand that organisers and audiences are now considering how best to utilise technology and to help that conversation we have enhanced our virtual event offering. Our hybrid technology can be adapted to suit individual event requirements and the range of formats enables event organisers to host their event at the ICC, under rigorous health and safety measures, whilst broadcasting it to audiences far and wide.

We continue to work closely with all of our customers to plan upcoming events and, as always, we’re on hand to assist with any enquiries – you can call us, email us or use our contact page.

For the moment, whilst the ICC Mall remains closed to the public, our partners Craft resumed restaurant dining on 8th July, with access via their external Canalside entrance.

We look forward to welcoming events back to the ICC but in the meantime our website and social media channels are a great source of information for all your event requirements.
