As the ICC plans celebrations for its 15th anniversary, the Birmingham venue wins the prestigious award for ‘Best UK Conference Centre’ for the second year running.

The industry’s leading ceremony, the Meetings and Incentive Travel Awards, took place last night at The Royal Lancaster Hotel, London where conference organisers and readers of ‘Meetings and Incentive Travel’ magazine voted to award Best UK Conference Centre to The ICC.

Nick Waight, director of the ICC, said, “We are incredibly proud to receive this award which is a fantastic reflection on the amazing team we have here at The ICC, and the first class facilities and quality service we offer our clients. It is an honour to be recognised by our customers as the best conference centre in the UK, and I want to thank everyone at The ICC for their hard work and commitment to continuing to provide clients with the best possible experience at the venue. This is a wonderful start to our anniversary year celebrations.”

Since opening in 1991 the ICC has welcomed over 2.5 million visitors through its doors and held more than 6,000 events. With 11 halls, 10 executive meeting rooms, Café Vite, flowers@theicc, The Club - with its private lounge and dedicated client associate service, and the new event management service Event Pilot, The ICC offers the UK’s largest selection of conference and support facilities under one roof.

With a history of high profile conferences The ICC has staged events, conferences and banquets for all business sectors, serving the world’s leading medical, political and business professionals. In 1998 the G8 Summit Birmingham was held at The ICC involving leaders from USA, Canada, UK, Germany, Italy, France, Russia and Japan, plus 3,500 international media. More recently, The ICC hosted The World Baptist Congress that saw 11,000 delegates from more than 107 countries.
